Sourdough isn't a trend - it's a 3,000-year-old craft. While most commercial loaves use chemical shortcuts to bake in 30 minutes, real sourdough can't be rushed. Add a single artificial additive, and wild yeast stops working.  

At Caffé Diem, we keep things honest with four pure ingredients: flour, wild starter, water, and sea salt. A slow 24-hour fermentation lets good bacteria pre-digest the loaf, breaking down heavy gluten and unlocking vital minerals. You get wholesome bread that leaves you feeling nourished, light, and bloat-free.

OUR STORY

The humble begining of our story

Founded by Jackie Loo and Rick Cheng in 2014, Caffe Diem became the pioneering specialty coffee destination in Pekan Cina, Alor Setar. In 2019, the brand expanded, opening Diem Bakery, opposite the award-winning heritage Caffe Diem Building. Caffe Diem gained renown for its specialty coffee and for its lemon poppy seed cake and many others.

Our philosophy is very simple. To brew the best coffee for our community and to bake the freshest bakery we could offer. Caffe Diem will continue to carry out its various community projects, namely Diem Art Fest and Project CSR.

Frankly pleasantly surprised to discover this trendy and nice cafe in Alor Setar. Had their grilled cheese sandwich which was crunchy and cheesy with a tinge of pesto sauce. Paired with their popular Coconut Cream Latte. Nice and reasonably priced. Recommended place.

Food is better than expected. Presentation to par. Service super-fast with nice and friendly wait staff. The atmosphere it's not what you would say the most relaxing but has good ambience to have a meal. Love their efforts to preserve heritage and their passion in serving good food and drinks. I would say you wouldn't be disappointed eating here but not everyone is going to give a wow.

Great place for food and drink at old town Alor Setar. Food taste great more than expectations 👍🏻 Drink also great 👍🏻 and special signature drink at there. Good and friendly staff there 👍🏻 environment and decorations there very old styles. Must visit there and exploring surrounding old town Alor Setar 👍🏻😊
